Opening up a laptop is a bit more involved than a desktop but the process was straightforward. Getting the old battery out and getting the new battery in went well. On initial power up, the battery was detected but not charging. After performing a "Battery Reset", normal operation was restored. By the way, the "Battery Reset" on a Dell laptop was to disconnect the battery, hold the power button down for at least 30 seconds, reconnect, and power up. Laptop has been working as expected since.
